Grenada Tropical Gardens Tour

Saint Georges Grenada

Visit three of Grenada’s exotic tropical gardens and meet their charming owners who will entertain you with stories of the joys and challenges of tropical gardening, as well as the island’s achievements at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show in England. Your journey begins as you drive through Grand Anse and pass the picturesque St George’s harbor on your way to the first stop, Hyde Park. After drinks and a friendly chat on a veranda overlooking the spectacular port views, you continue inland to the Sunnyside Garden a lush paradise that’s one of the island’s finest treasures. Established by the Renwick family, this historical residence was built in the 1920’s and was influenced by the French and British. In Sunnyside’s five acres you will find coy ponds, an orchard and an excellent variety of palms, orchids, hibiscus, and bromeliads. Continuing along Morne Jaloux ridge with its historic forts, you’ll stop at Smithy’s Garden located just a mile from the historic Fort Frederick (1779-1791); this Garden is noted for its wild feel and has an extensive collection of orchids, fruit trees, flowering plants and vines. If you’re a nature lover then look no further, this is the tour for you!
