Family and Friends - the Family we Choose

Family is our first love but as we grow and mature into who we are supposed to become, we find that we grow further from some relatives and closer to others. We form immediate families among our collective family; but then there is the family that unlike the one we are born or adopted into, we get the chance to select ourselves, our friends.

These are the people we share our fondest memories, sweetest stories, roll on the floor laughter, embarrassing moments, harsh trusts, tired days and brutal frustrations with. They are the ones we love the most.

This season we take some time to honor our nearest and dearest, starting the wave with our wonderful mothers.

Mom, Mother Figure and Mother Nature this Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day has to be one of the most important days of the year if you ask us.

Let us dissect that a little. If there were no mothers (nor fathers - we know), the human race would have quickly faded away from the beginning of time. So would the animal kingdom and Mother Nature herself would cease to exist.

The mothers that may not have given birth to a child but took on one as their own also hold a special status in the world, a mom.

We absolutely love our moms and want to share that love with them this Mother’s Day.

Nobody but Dad this Father’s Day

Fathers often go underrated in comparison to their female counterparts. However, they too play a huge role in the balanced development of a child. Male and Female though closely related often experience the world in a different way than the other; and so a child’s rounded development depends on both. Their existence depends on both.

Sail Away for the Day

The Caribbean is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea and washed by the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. This basin of natural, clear, saltwater provides the perfect passage for refreshing family cruises across the region. Sail by Catamaran or enjoy a refreshing circumnavigation cruise around some of the most iconic Caribbean islands. Jamaica and Turks and Caicos are topping this list.

The Dolphins are Watching

Dolphins are some of the world’s most docile mammals. In Jamaica and St. Lucia, there are lots of them. While in Jamaica, families are able to enjoy an entertaining dolphin experience before climbing the 600ft climb that makes Dunn’s River Falls, a popular UNESCO World Heritage Site. Similarly in St, Lucia, groups can take on the waters for viewing pleasure; seeing majestic whales and gorgeous dolphins put on a show in their natural habitat.

Underwater Adventure

St. Lucia, Grenada and Antigua, right now, are prime spots for the best underwater adventures. Be it, snorkeling among some of the most lively marine life, brilliantly colored and uniquely put together reefs or walking the seafloor, these islands are sure to leave all its visitors in awe.

Beach Break or Freshwater Wonders

By this point, we all know that the Caribbean is home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and breathtaking adventures. But another feature of the West Indies that is often overlooked are the freshwater rivers, streams and flowing cascades. Between Antigua, Turks and Caicos, Bahamas, Grenada and St. Lucia, the beaches and rivers/waterfalls are perfect spots for family and friends to explore, while away. Without too much exertion, these experiences signify a tropical getaway.

Not only is the tropics filled and overflowing with seascapes but the land activities are just as stunning.
